All Ontario-based CCA’s and P. Ag’s interested in delivering the Farmland Health Check-Up must complete the following steps to become certified to deliver the program. Any Farmland Health Check-Up workbooks completed by Advisors before working through the certification will not be eligible for compensation.
Step 1: Watch Training Modules
Please complete the self-guided training modules following the links below. Viewing Module 1 is compulsory, while Module 2 is optional. However, we encourage all Advisors to complete both modules, as they provide a comprehensive introduction to the program and detailed guidance on the assessment process and digital workbook tools.
Please disregard the LEADS program wording in these modules, as the LEADS program is no longer active, but the Farmland Health Check-Up workbook itself remains the same. We will be updating the Modules and appreciate your understanding in the meantime.
Step 2: Create an Account
Create an account on this website. As the Advisor, you hold the account and are responsible for managing workbook completion and submission for all the clients you work with.
Step 3: Complete Advisor Registration Survey
Complete the Advisor Registration survey to notify OSCIA of your interest in becoming certified. This step is required as it notifies OSCIA of your intent and confirms that you’ve completed the previous steps. You will receive email confirmation once your certification is approved. Until then, you are not eligible to submit any workbooks or claim compensation.
Step 4: Working with Producers
Once certified, begin working with producers to complete the Farmland Health Check-Up assessment. Remember the following:
- Producers from anywhere in the province of Ontario are eligible
- While local and/or in-person connections can be beneficial, Advisors and producers may work together from any geographical location
- The Farmland Health Check-Up assessment can be completed at any time of the year
Step 5: Claim Compensation
Advisors are entitled to a $600 flat rate for each completed Farmland Health Check-Up. Use the form below to submit your claims to the fhcu@ontariosoilcrop.org email address on a regular basis. Ensure the name on the Claim Form is the name that the cheque should be made out to.
Provide Feedback
While not required, OSCIA appreciates all feedback received from Agricultural Advisors. Tell us about what steps or processes were challenging, as well as what parts worked well. Have ideas? Provide advice on how we could make improvements or changes. Each piece of feedback allows OSCIA to transform the program into a better, more effective version of itself.
Provide feedback through:
